We have been working alongside the University of Exeter with the aim of developing a sports shoe designed specifically with the older foot and body in mind, while still retaining the roominess and comfort that Cosyfeet shoes are known for.
During sports activity, it is important to wear appropriate footwear to avoid injury; this is increasingly important the older we get. By conducting research on older people engaging in sports activities, at the University of Exeter’s unique laboratory facility, we were able to establish the differences in how older adults move their feet and lower their bodies during sport activities, when compared with younger adults.
The result of our extensive studies is a true performance sports trainer offering all the necessary stability and cushioning to enhance an active lifestyle and minimise the risk of injury, without compromising on the special footwear characteristics required for extra-wide or vulnerable feet.
Both Viva and Vamos women's styles feature a double density sole for excellent underfoot cushioning, and are engineered to provide enhanced grip and durability. The uppers have been styled to give a high level of support and stability using materials selected to allow stretch and freedom for optimum foot comfort. The exceptionally breathable and moisture-wicking footbed will retain its original shape and cushioning over a long period of time. The lace fastening on Viva, and touch-fastening on Vamos both adjust to accommodate swelling for a secure, tailor-made fit.
